About Us

Our team, based at Tualatin High School, is a second-year team in the FIRST Robotics competition. Our rookie year challenge was the "Rack N' Roll" competition. Robotics is an extra-curricular activity in which our team meets to brainstorm, design, build, test, and refine robot designs and programming to solve a challenge.

Last year, our team consisted of fifteen active team members. Through extensive recruiting efforts, we are attempting to raise that count to thirty team members this year. If you are interested in becoming a part of our team, please send an e-mail to: info@frcteam2002.com.

Our team is divided into four sub-teams. We have a design team, which is responsible for coming up with a logical robot base design and which works to CAD all our robot pieces. Then we have a mechanical team, whose primary functions are to help determine the robot's auxiliary system components and to build the robot. Our third technical team is the control systems team, which takes charge of programming the robot and the controllers and ensuring good human/robot interface. Our final sub-team in the marketing team, which takes care of the business aspects of the team. These include project management, fundraising, community event planning, recruiting, scouting other teams, creating an animation, and designing and ordering buttons and T-shirts.
